The Introduction to Safety Management program focuses on knowledge and skills required to effectively deal with safety and health management issues from an individual and organizational prospective.

During the five-day course, safety and health systems and organizational structure; work processes and practices; and the needs of and relationships with employees will be explored.  The scope, function, and leadership role of the safety and health professional are emphasized.

The course addresses management topics such as:

• Safety and Health Management Principles and Practices

• Planning for Safety and Health Management

• The Scope and Function of the Safety and Health Professional

• Management and Leadership Style

• Assessment of Organizational Practices and Environmental Conditions

Participants will be involved in their own learning experience through interactive, instructional exercises.  These activities provide opportunities to apply newly learned concepts in a variety of safety and health scenarios.

During the training, participants will:

Analyze Problems Presented Through Case Studies.
Practice Skills in Roll Play Situations.
Share Management Techniques with Other Safety and Health Professionals in Group Discussions.
Create a Management Plan for Their Company/Facility.
